Congress Highlights in 2010

HIGH-TECH ADVANCES

Among many others, four sessions will focus on new technologies that will impact our practice in the future with the following topics:
-    understanding of arrhythmogenic mechanisms (Etienne PRUVOT)
-    Signal processing (Sanjiv NARAYAN)
-    Prediction of mechanical effects of CRT

Three level of Teaching
1.    A high-level group, including, for example, Mel Scheinman’s program, which will discuss complex electrophysiologic tracings, or David Cannom’s program covering the indications for ICD.

2.    A group of demonstration of the use of new ablation instrumentation, based on the RETAC sessions.

3.    A purely teaching group based on actual clinical cases, and analyses of stored information in pacemakers and ICD, held in English EDUSTIM and in French STIMUPRAT on devices, on Friday and Saturday
-    A special program by George Klein on EP, on Saturday

With hands-on use of programmers from various manufacturers in dedicated conference rooms. We will attempt to equip these programs with automatic voting systems to facilitate the interactions between audience and speakers.

YOUR VOICE COUNTS

Several sessions will cover new technology, in device therapy as well as electrophysiology. Your interest and level of importance you assign to these innovations, compared to currently available technology, will be probed by your vote. These sessions will be, in general, animated by debates between experts.
